Interoperability & Data Access
Native Advantage HMO is committed to giving you secure, convenient access to your health information. Federal law gives you the right to access your health data and share it with apps and providers you choose.
What is Health Data Interoperability?
Interoperability is the ability to share your health information electronically between your health plan, doctors, hospitals, and health apps — quickly, securely, and with your permission.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires Medicare Advantage plans to support access to health data using standards such as FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). An API is a way for software applications to exchange information.
What this means for you:
Digital access can help you understand your health information. Native Advantage HMO's API readiness, available data, and app connection instructions remain pending confirmation.
Your Claims Data

What to Look For in an App
Privacy protections
Third-party apps may not be covered by HIPAA. Review how the app collects, uses, shares, and deletes your data.
Transparent Privacy Policy
The app clearly states what data it collects, how it uses your data, and whether it sells your data.
Data Use Limitations
The app uses your data only for purposes you've authorized and does not share it without your consent.
Secure Authentication
The app uses secure OAuth 2.0 authentication — it should never ask for your plan login credentials directly.
Easy Revocation
You can easily disconnect the app and request deletion of your data at any time.
Important Warning
Native Advantage HMO will never ask you to share your login credentials with a third-party app. If an app asks for your username and password directly (not through an OAuth authorization screen), do not proceed. Contact Member Services immediately if you suspect fraud.
Privacy & Security
HIPAA and applicable CMS rules address the protection of health information. Plan-specific API security details remain pending confirmation.
HIPAA Protections
Your health information is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We cannot share your data without your authorization except as permitted by law.
API Security Details
Plan-specific API security documentation and readiness details are pending confirmation.
You Control Access
Review consent and access controls before sharing data. Plan-specific instructions for granting or revoking app access are pending.
Third-Party App Responsibility
Once you share data with a third-party app, that app's privacy policy governs your data. Review their policies carefully before connecting.
